As a Partner of Comfield Legal Martin Schmidt advises companies and public-sector clients in all issues relating to compliance. The focus of his legal practice is antitrust law and data privacy.

Companies also trust his advice in all areas of compliance management. His main area of expertise includes both the set up and improvement of compliance management systems and internal investigations of compliance cases.

One of his particular strengths is understanding issues from the company’s perspective. Prior to founding Comfield Legal, he worked as in-house counsel in the legal department of an international mobility and logistics company. Before that, he was an attorney at a major US full-service law firm. Martin supports clients as external Data Protection Officer and as Compliance Ombudsman.

Martin is a member of the Studienvereinigung Kartellrecht e.V. and the International Bar Association (IBA). He is on the advisory board of "Compliance Business" and is active in the antitrust law and data protection working groups of the German Institute for Compliance (Deutsches Institut für Compliance e.V., DICO).
